About Margaret Krys Designs

Armed with my fashion degree and a few years of working for others under my belt, I left my day job in favour of pursuing my infatuation with costumes. Having danced throughout my youth I had my first taste of design and creation by making traditional ethnic costumes. I started my business in my basement, designing, cutting and sewing custom dance costumes. From the first smiles on the dancers’ faces, I was hooked.

As the business, and our family grew, my husband (also a dancer) quit his job to help. We truly became a family business with three competitive dancing daughters of our own on whom I was able to perfect my craft.

Fast forward 25 years and we are in a 7000 sq ft dedicated studio where we can boast a state of the art computerized pattern making and cutting system. As a result, our costumes are precise, secure and comfortable to wear. The quality and attention to detail of each costume is important to us…we want you to look amazing!

Our unique, one of a kind costumes are created by our talented and passionate design team. They take pride in coming up with new trends and ideas ensuring that no two costumes are alike. Having come from the dance world themselves, they understand the functional needs of a costume. We want you to stand out from the crowd. The costumes are then manufactured by our highly skilled cutters and sewers who are trained by us to meet our high standards.

Up until recently we worked exclusively for our dance school clientele. But now we would like to share our highly sought after solo costumes and make them available to every dancer. We work year round to ensure we meet your demands for competition season and show.
